Willi Stark is an accomplished leader offering 30 plus years of international management experience and achievements. He brings a solid background of resolving labor difficulties, plant productivity, delivery, cycle time, cost and profitability problems. He has many years of directing operations involving several thousands of employees at multiple plant sites in different countries. Willi has over 3years of Managing Director and General Manager experience in China (PRC). He has shown consistently high levels of performance dealing with people, products and services issues requiring strong leadership, organizational and time management abilities. He is fluent in written and spoken German.

Upon completing 4 years of Military duty in the United States Air Force, Willi joined IBM in East Fishkill N.Y. as a Tool and Modelmaker. He advanced rapidly thru engineering , support and manufacturing management ranks in East Fiskill, Poughkeepsie and Kingston N.Y. He served as business unit manager of the IBM multi layer ceramic fabricator until 1995. In that assignment he directed large technical, operations and production groups in three different geographic locations in the US and Canada. From 1980 thru 1993 provided manufacturing and delivery guidance to the multi layer ceramic business in Germany. This activity involved ongoing assessments of European business and competitive baselines.

In 1996, Willi accepted the Managing Director and General Manager’s position of an IBM and Great Wall Computer Group owned Joint Venture (JV). The JV, named IIPC, was responsible manufacturing, marketing and selling the IBM Personal Computer line of products in the PRC and Asia. At the time Willi assumed the leadership role in IIPC, the organization was in a start-up mode, having less than 50 employees and revenue of less than $10m. Under Willi’s leadership, IIPC grew into an $800m revenue business with over 1000 employees encompassing all business functions (e.g. planning, procurement, production, fulfillment marketing, import/export, finance, human resource, local and central government taxes). The business was recently sold to Lenovo of China.

After returning from China in 2000, Willi, with a small staff, managed Corporate Inventory for IBM Worldwide Manufacturing in Somers N.Y. The team used asset performance ratios and benchmarking against industry market leaders to establish and deploy inventory targets for all business segments in order to reduce inventory and cash to cash cycles. Included in this assignment was an analysis of worldwide business trends focused primarily on Europe.

Since the mid 2002 Willi has been leading a global business transformation project that entails right-sizing a large worldwide business unit within IBM. He led the performance and profitability studies/audits necessary to determine the appropriate product/services portfolio retention and plant asset positioning. He positioned non-strategic products and services for outsourcing or complete divestiture and served as the lead negotiator in the divestiture execution. This project resulted in significant cost savings.

Willi received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marist College N.Y. with a Labor Relations concentration.
