Luis Rodriguez spent most of his career in international business specializing in formation and start up of development, manufacturing, procurement and OEM sales operations. Early in his 38-year history with IBM Corp., he was assigned to South America where he was part of a team establishing manufacturing plants and procurement offices in Argentine, Brazil and Mexico. He also spent time in Europe leading the product transfer projects from several countries to the US and South America.

In 1985, Luis was assigned to Hong Kong as Director of Manufacturing and Business Development for IBM. His initial project was to lead the negotiations to establish IBM China Co Ltd., one the first multinational companies licensed to conduct Marketing, Sales, Service and Manufacturing in China. Later, the operations were expanded to include several branch offices across the country as well as a Research Center.

In 1991, Luis was named Director of Manufacturing, Procurement and OEM Sales for Greater China managing operations in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. By 2001, Luis had led the establishment of 7 Joint Ventures (JVs) and 2 Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprises (WOFEs) ranging in scope from manufacturing of PC's and Disk Drives to Software Development. These operations employed over 6500 Chinese nationals with less than 15 international assignees in the country. The revenue and profit growth of these operations significantly outpaced the business plan. One of the key elements for the success of these businesses was the very favorable Terms and Conditions and other concessions obtained by Luis during the negotiation phases with the Chinese partners, included in the licenses and approved various governmental agencies.

Luis' strengths are his negotiating skills and extensive experience dealing with the business licensing and contractual processes as well as managing the implementation of complex projects.

Luis and his family live in Miami, Florida and his hobbies are golf and fishing. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
