In particular situations, EW consultants will be assigned to serve as Interim General Managers (IGM) of a client's company or business unit in China/Asia. These consultants have extensive experience as General Managers and manufacturing directors of Asian operations and have been recruited from Western firms based on their unique skill sets.
These EW professionals include Western expatriates who have worked extensively in China/Asia as well as native Asian managers who served in executive positions with Western firms. These operational executives managed companies based on 'best practices' standards and Western practices of transparency, including financial and operational reporting. They possess a combination of multidisciplinary backgrounds and the capabilities to drive our client's goals and manage the difficulties of operating in China.
Depending on the industry sector and business needs of our clients, our client and EW will determine the appropriate skill set needed and assign the correct executives.
These Interim General Managers are generally used by clients in 3 situations:
- to manage start-up operations,
- 'fill-in' as replacements while the company identifies a permanent GM or
- turn-around troubled facilities
These assignments can be for several months or longer, depending on the needs of our clients. Our consultants will serve as Interim General Managers and work closely with corporate headquarters to ensure the manufacturing stability and the company's culture of high quality and financial reporting transparency.
