Background:
The company is a multi-national Western-based industrial manufacturer who decided to open a China office. This office will be collecting and managing sensitive market data which it will shared with their US headquarters - this information will consist of proprietary information, including manufacturing processes, formulas of production, customer and vendor data, strategic initiatives, competitor information, and pricing structures.
Company did not have a global IT infrastructure to support the information and communication needs. The client was unaware of how Chinese restrictions could impact this infrastructure and lacked knowledge of qualified IT vendors to implement the China portion of this infrastructure.
Challenge:
Design a global information technology infrastructure to protect the company's proprietary data and support the company's information and communication needs as well as adhere to Chinese regulations.
Solution:
- EW and the company's IT team developed a Global IT strategy which allowed the US and China teams to confidentially share the company's proprietary data.
