There are often cases in China in which suppliers will act against the interests of their customers. For example, a supplier may try to infringe upon a customer's Intellectual Property and create a competitive company to use this IP or a subcontractor will use their customer's equipment (which has been provided exclusively by the customer for manufacturing their product) to make the same product and re-sale - thus, competing against their own customer in the local Chinese market and often, lowering the brand value of their customer's product.
East West can provide investigative services that often uncover this suspected fraud. These investigations usually include identifying locations of the counterfeit companies, determining if a subcontractor's products are the same or essentially the same as the clients, and determining if the suspected employee or executive is involved with the company. Each case is very client specific.
Note: Results of this type of investigation cannot be used in a court case. It must be confirmed by a licensed investigator. Licensed investigators in China are required to have previous police experience.
