- For a Japanese OEM manufacturer, EW conducted a sourcing study of over 1,800 suppliers in Thailand, developed a database of the 50 most promising suppliers of more than 100 commodities, provided detailed financial information on sourcing from qualified Thai suppliers, recommended a sourcing timetable with the 50 identified suppliers and a procurement strategy for developing Asian sourcing capabilities in ASEAN and India.
- For a Western supplier needed to subcontract product for distribution to the local Chinese market and export to the US, EW conducted factory audits of Chinese suppliers identified by the Western client. Subsequently, EW identified, qualified and audited 12 other factories for the client.
Based on the Audit results, the client has engaged East West to serve as the client's 'procurement team' in China and East West manages the whole process from price inquiry, technical issue coordination, raw material and finished goods testing, on-site quality checks and freight forwarding shipments.
- For a Western collision repair and services company, East West developed a market entry strategy for the company to enter the China market. Additionally, East West identified and qualified distributors and successfully negotiated the distribution agreements for the client.
- For a private equity client, East West performed a technical Due Diligence on a Chinese manufacturer in preparation for a potential acquisition. The Due Diligence focuses upon the legal aspects of guarantees - warranties - patent infringements, financial issues of the business plan's viability and potential for financial loss, marketing and sales, strategic issues including their competitor's positions regarding market share, technology and R&D capabilities.
- For an international automotive supplier with a Chinese plant, East West conducted an audit of the plant in preparation for the OEM's audit. The East West audit identified the plant's weaknesses and we assisted the client in taking the necessary corrective actions. East West has extensive experience auditing manufacturing operations - after making changes, the client successfully passed the OEM's audit.
